What we do

For Rabbis, Cantors and Educators

IJS offers 18-month leadership programs for rabbis, cantors and educators consisting of 4 five-day retreats. These programs include Hassidic text study, prayer, mindfulness meditation, yoga and spiritual direction.


For Professional Alumni

Professional alumni of IJS programs join the Hevraya program which offers national and regional retreats, weekly text study, an interactive online resource bank and spiritual direction.


For Lay People

Three times a year IJS offers 4-day Shabbat retreats consisting of contemplative prayer, mindfulness meditation, Hassidic text study, yoga, lively discussion and Shabbat community. IJS has developed a 2-year curriculum - Vetaher Libeynu - an exploration of the adult Jewish spiritual experience. Alumni of our professional programs teach the curriculum in their communities.
